Qualifications: BA Law and LLB (University of the Western Cape); Certificate in the Financing of Local Infrastructure Initiatives (University of Cape Town/Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden)

Ms Beck was admitted as an attorney in 1992. She honed her consumer protection knowledge and experience in social interest law, with a particular reference to housing, in the NGO sector, where she served the Legal Resources Centre, the Housing Consumer Protection Trust and the Black Sash for many years. She is currently a practicing attorney at Beck-Paxton Attorneys and serves as a Member of the National Consumer Tribunal, Council member of the South African Council of Planners, is an associate member of INSITE, an organisation focusing on social and economic development of communities and is a Director at the Ombudsman for Banking Services.
