Mr. Alfred Mothetsi Ramosedi
Alfred is the Managing Director of Nedbank Private Bank.
Alfred
has been in the financial services industry for the past fourteen years. He has contributed to the development and
implementation of effective business strategies aimed at increasing the profitability of organisations. His responsibilities as
Managing Director for Nedbank Private Bank include developing and implementing strategies aimed at effectively servicing the
high net worth clients of Nedbank, while, at the same time, growing the market share and improving the profitability of the
Nedbank Private Bank business unit.
Alfred's work in the financial services industry is
underpinned by solid academic qualifications. These include a B.Com from Wits University, an MBA from Wits Business School, and
a Diploma in Advanced Banking from RAU. He has also completed the Global Executive Development Programme at the Gordon Institute
of Business Science.
Alfred has held a number of positions of office, and has served on the committees and boards
of a variety of business associations and organisations. These include:

- Visiting Lecturer and External Examiner: Knowledge Management, Wits Business School
- President of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (South and Southern Africa
Councils)
- Member of the Accounting Practices Board (APB)
- Member of the International Federation of Accountants Board, New York
- Member of the International Development Committee of CIMA in London
- Representative of CIMA Southern Africa on IFAC PAIB Board as well as the CIMA International
Council
- Trustee of the Nedbank Foundation, which handles the Nedbank Group's Corporate Social
Responsibility Investments
- Director of the Ombudsman for Banking Services Board and Chairman of the Audit and Finance
Committee.
An accomplished public speaker and active contributor to numerous community initiatives,
Alfred is active and passionate about the success of Black Economic Empowerment, and provides support and guidance to a number
of young BEE companies aimed at maximising their growth strategies and developing products and services that are appropriate for
the African market.
Alfred
has a healthy balanced outlook on life. He is an avid cyclist having completed many road races with distances averaging in
excess of 100 kilometres. He has also participated in a mountain bike competition.
He enjoys holidaying in Lesotho and says its beauty is unappreciated.
As a counter balance to the challenges of his work, Alfred enjoys listening to smooth,
soothing music.
As one would expect from an active, analytical mind, Alfred enjoys reading. His reading tastes
are universal, but he particularly enjoys reading science fiction.
Alfred has always enjoyed the support of both his parents and he says that they "were
always there for me". His role model is his dad who believed that obstacles build character.
Alfred attributes his work ethic and attitude to life to his parents.
He
enjoys spending time with his family. He is a loving husband to his wife, Moipone and a doting father to his lovely children,
Lerato, Katleho and Keabetswe.
His other hobbies include playing golf and travelling, time permitting.
